No, not Ray, but his "separated-at-birth twin" Farid Salloum, CFO (Chief Falafel Owner) of Baba's Meterranean Kitchen on Fort Avenue in South Baltimore (between Federal Hill and Locust Point). What a cool little place to eat great Mediterranean food! It's colorful and cozy inside with an authentic tin ceiling adorned with Moroccan inspired hanging lamps and a meticulously hand drawn chalkboard menu. Upon entering the busy restaurant I thought we'd walked into the filming of a Seinfeld episode..... Add Comment I lived in London when I was little. Traditional English food is atrocious (jellied eels...), so we ate at ethnic restaurants -- especially Greek. (Sadly, the owner/chef of our favorite suddenly became a barber and the place literally changed overnight - true story). So, I think I'm a pretty experienced Moussaka eater. After trying a couple of spots in Baltimore we became loyal fans of Samos just off Eastern Ave. in Greektown. It's a consistent "Best Of" winner and rightly so. It's always packed, so bring some patience, beer/wine and cash (no credit cards however there's a little ATM machine next to--not in--the ladies room!). Make sure you sign in when you arrive and then review the menu or chat with the other's waiting to pass the time. The food is awesome and the waitresses are hardworking and personable. Our menu favorites are the Trio Sampler of the dips (hummus, tzatziki and my personal favorite taramosalata), the delicious soft pita bread that tastes | Jackie McTear
